Back to the future

Projecting a timeline of unique venues spanning over a millennium.
Project: Event interpretation   Client: Unique Venues of London

For a launch event at Tate Britain, we created a projection based around the concept of time. Featuring iconic artefacts and characters most associated with member venues, it was — of course — set out in chronological order. It began with Southwark Cathedral, founded back in 606AD and finished in 2003, with the futuristic arts centre Laban. Seeing the timeline loom large — as it was projected onto the gallery walls — induced feelings of considerable pleasure and relief. (As we had only completed the artwork at 4.30pm on the afternoon of the event!)
